Russian-Linked Superyacht “Nord” Crosses Hormuz Amid Tensions
The “Nord”, a superyacht worth $500 million connected to the sanctioned Russian tycoon, Mr. Alexei Mordashov, managed to sail through the Strait of Hormuz amid the blockade imposed by Iran. In light of the conflict between the U.S. and Israel on one hand and Iran on the other, where most private vessels have stopped navigating through the strait, it can be said that this is an indication of the emerging “strategic partnership” between Iran and Russia. As more sanctions are being imposed against Russian businessmen, the Middle East region provides a good shelter.
